Scariest Path in the World, The

Someone sent me this very hair-raising video. I thought others would find this interesting too. Most of you don't know The Sacred Cowtipper like you think. I have bungee-dived from a crane and have the video to prove it. I have parasailed in the Bahamas. I've done some other crazy things you don't have to pay money to do. My cousin even calls me a thrill-seeker. As much as I like trying things that the average person would never try, I don't know if I could walk this path that this man does in this video although, man, I would really like to. You will see what I mean. If you ever stood on top of Hoover Dam and looked straight down, this is kind of like that but standing on a ledge two feet wide with concrete that is missing in certain spots.

The entrances for this trail are closed but not policed. It was built in the 1920's for hydro workers. There is no rail but there is a chain to hold onto but it doesn't hold much weight and several people have fallen to their deaths. This was filmed by someone who made the hike carrying a video camera while he did it. Enjoy.

After watching that, I would like you to consider another path. It's a path that all of us are on whether we recognize that as a fact or not. Our spiritual man - the real us is on this path.

There is a path that we must all follow should we want to inherit eternal life instead of eternal death. It is not an easy path as many would preach and teach today. Jesus said it might even cost you your life and this is why he said, take up your cross daily and follow me. Jesus wasn't the first one ever crucified. When Jesus told that His followers to take up the cross, they knew what He meant. "If you keep following me, you may end up on a cross crucified like those other people that we just passed by when leaving town so-and-so." Following Jesus in some countries will leave you destitute most of your life, and martyrdom for many like in China and Darfur. I grew up in the land that flows with milk and honey (America) - easy Christianity. What if my commitment is challenged tomorrow with a prison sentence for preaching the gospel or death just because I hold onto the Word of God and defend it? Will I continue to follow when the milk runs dry and the honey runs out?

Jesus said straight is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life, and few be there that find it. This path is very narrow but God has made a way for every single person in the world through repentance (turning from our sins) and believing the gospel.

There is another path we must all go through and that is death. Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, thou art with me. Is Jesus with you my friend? Are you walking on His path or your own path? Is He pleased with your life right now? I don't care how things were 5 years ago much less 5 days ago. Are you walking with Him now? Many professing Christians believe they will be taken up in a rapture and they are not even living for God right now. They are deluded and self-deceived. That's how deception works. You don't even realize that you are in it and so many are in it because they don't search their own hearts and let the Holy Spirit search their heart. We only have three examples in scripture where someone was taken home in a good fashion - Enoch, Elijah, and Jesus.

Enoch was taken because he pleased God. Jude quotes this prophet and what he said about the end times.

Gen 5:24  And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Heb 11:5  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Jud 1:14  And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Jud 1:15  To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Elijah slew the prophets of Baal. He took a stand against idolatry. The church in America today is so deceived that they can't even see the idolatry that they are in.

1Ki 18:40  And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

Jesus ascended on high. I don't think I need to put the hundreds of scriptures down here about Him that I could.

Let us not forget the parable of the ten virgins either. Five were taken and five were left behind. With all of the false doctrine going on today in the churches, and the things that aren't being said, I don't think even five will be taken. We even have Kingdom Now teaching that has crept back in. That's another article.

There are many roads that will keep people out of the kingdom of God. One is self-righteousness. This road is traveled by many. If you asked a 100 people if they were to die today where they think they would go, a vast majority would say to heaven and their thought on the matter is because they haven't murdered anyone. But God's standard is perfect and no one can attain to that. We all have cheated, stolen, coveted, lied, hated, and the biggest one is committed idolatry. We must come to God with a humble heart of repentance and turn from the sin in our lives so the Holy Spirit can clean us up and make us born again.

Ask yourself, "Which path am I on today?" Is it the path that leads to death or the path that leads to life? Jesus didn't die on that cross and shed His blood for you for nothing.
