Rob Bell Says Hell is a Metaphor Live on Good Morning America
(March 15th, 2011; written by Robert Marino)

This video almost went viral on YouTube. It has over 3,600 hits in one day and growing rapidly. We need to reach out to these people caught up into Emergent theology which has just become another cult. There are many doctrines this movement has propagated throughout the world that are not only unorthodox but heretical. (copy and paste into your browser)

I am mad! Mad! Mad!!! This man just called my Savior, the one who shed His blood for my sins (when He didn't have to), a liar. He called Hell a metaphor. Jesus may have used hell as a metaphor in one or two scriptures but never denied its existence or the fact that it was an eternal place of punishment. He did this in front of an international audience this morning at 8:00am on Good Morning America of which is a heavily watched program in America. This probably had much to do with the promotion of his new book "Love Wins". Emergent Theology is loaded with post-modernistic and Kingdom Now Theology that not only takes away from "absolute truth" but also renders the Second Coming of Christ as fictitious. In calling Hell a metaphor in all cases, he inadvertently has misled many people worldwide to believe that maybe there isn't a Hell or that if Hell does exist, maybe only a few will actually go there - you know - people like Adolph Hitler, Karl Marx, and the Joseph Stalins of the world. Many people in the Emergent Church Movement believe people like Gandhi are most likely in Heaven if Heaven so much exists. Of course they don't understand things like self-righteousness, being born again, etc. to believe such things. In misleading people that truth is really truth, he continues to call the word of God a lie, Jesus a liar, and is propagating his post-modernistic theology to the rest of the world as some kind of truth. What does Jude say about people like this?

Jud 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Jud 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

There are many ministers today who have turned the grace of God into lasciviousness - not just the Emergents. They preach a cheap grace that doesn't need repentance. Many have accepted homosexuality as a legitimate lifestyle now. Many are okay with couples in their churches living together without rebuking them for the sake of their souls and thereby the whole congregation gets corrupted little by little as the ugly head of compromise continues to grow like the carbonated draft floating to the surface when pouring yourself a root beer.

Many are deceived by people like Rob and other Emergent leaders because they don't know the Word of God well enough yet and their shepherds (pastors they sit under every week) have not spoken out. The silence in our pulpits today is so very deafening and the sheep have not been spared. Many ministers who say they are called of God have chosen to not speak out against this heresy .and many others that are spreading in our churches. I hope to Almighty God that it isn't because they fear losing offerings. If that is the case, they need to go get an honest job somewhere stocking shelves at Wal-Mart or changing tires at the local tire shop. I really hate to say this but this video clip is just one of many heretical things going on in the churches in America today. The leaven has spread so far now that only God can remove it with national repentance that must start in the churches.

Many of you know my story about how God revealed The Emergent Church Movement to me about five years ago when a local pastor handed me Rob Bell's first book called "Velvet Elvis, Repainting the Christian Faith" and the Holy Spirit screamed inside of my spirit man DECEPTION before I had even read it. I knew nothing about this movement until that day. There was so much heresy in his first book and most could not see it. Rob's publisher (it starts with a "Z") went right on to publish more of Rob's works along with the likes of Sweet, Pagitt, Kimball, Campolo, and many other of these false prophets who have propagated a false Jesus, a false gospel, and a false reality of who God is. The apostasy has begun on such a huge scale in America and I can't believe how many have chosen to ignore those who have been speaking up. Every time I want to quit speaking out against this kind of stuff, something like this happens and I feel I must press on or many will be deceived and end up in a Christ-less eternity in a horrible "literal" place called Hell.

I have been speaking out against this movement for about five years now. Many, many pastors ignored my warnings about this movement and some have even blocked me off their emails or have even wrote to me in such manner "Take me Off Your List!!!" Do you know why truth hurts some people? - Because they don't have it and they don't want it. Unfortunately, some have given themselves and their congregations over to much false doctrine now. I had one pastor tell me that I am not going to be looking around every corner for a demon as if ignorance is bliss. The writing was on the wall. But isn't a shepherd supposed to watch for the wolves that come in with heretical doctrines in order to protect their sheep through warning them? What kind of shepherd ignores the wolves? - a hireling! Yes, a hireling. Call them what they are. They love the offering plate more than they love God and the people God has entrusted to them as an under-shepherd of the Good Shepherd.

Joh 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
Joh 10:13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

Many have even played Rob Bell's NOOMA Videos in their Sunday morning services and I believe so in dire straits to get their congregations to actually not just sit there and warm the pews. See, what the social gospel that Rob Bell (the Emergents) and the Prophetic/Apostolic Movement teaches, gets people active but they tend to leave God's Word out for the most part (half truths) or changes the Word so that the world can accept it and even allows occultic things like Eastern Mysticism into the church. They bring God down to a human level. What these ministers don't realize is that many in their congregations are not active in serving God because they just aren't saved. Many have come to God for the perks of Christianity (what God could do for me; Why Don't You Try Jesus sermons) not because they were seeking right relationship with God because they saw their sin for what it was. Anyhow, that.s another subject.
These NOOMA videos along with the whole Emergent Church Movement.s teachings have spread the social gospel across America - a gospel that with many leave out important doctrines like atonement, man's depravity (original sin), the doctrines of God's wrath, justice, and eternal punishment. The social gospel is unbiblical and nothing but a sham because it leaves the person with a half-knowledge of who God is. A knowledge that only speaks of God's love, mercy, and grace but says nothing about why He must punish sin, why He hates sin, why He becomes an unholy corrupt judge if He doesn't judge with righteousness, and why there is a Hell and who goes there. I encourage everyone to read the first chapter of Romans. We talk a lot about leading people to the Lord through the Romans Road but we leave out the first chapter.

There are three elements in the first chapter that are either left out of every Romans Road sermon or breezed over really fast as to not offend anyone.
(1) The righteousness of God revealed (verse 17): Do we even know what the righteousness of God is anymore? Who is God? The seraphim cry out "Holy, holy, holy" (Isaiah 6:3, Revelation 4:8) continuously at the throne of God. Meditate on that for a little bit. Do we think God is going to let people in Heaven who held onto their sins and had no remorse for them when He cast out one third of the angels? Think about that one too.
(2) The wrath of God revealed (verse 18): Do we even talk about God's wrath anymore? God.s wrath was so intense that Jesus had second thoughts about going to the cross when He was in the Garden of Gethsemane. He struggled in there sweating great drops of blood because he knew it was now 'go time' or as the Bible says in other places (His hour had not come yet). His hour had come now and He knew it but that's why He came, praise God. He endured the cross for the joy that was set before Him. He saw the few that would come to real repentance and faith in Christ. Read my article called Crimson Tide if you haven't yet. I bring this fact to light and you will never read that story
the same again.
(3) The creation of God revealed (verses 19-32): The biggest attack on the word of God today on its inerrancy is the teaching of evolution bar none which teaches that if creation really didn.t happen and the worldwide flood (proof of God's wrath) didn't happen, then we need not fear God that is if He really exists anyhow.

Rob talks a lot about "The Conversation" which is just another name for The Emergent Church Movement. So let's talk about and discuss Hell with the unbeliever who is headed there. Giving people the truth is walking in love. The discussion of Hell should be a deterrent to someone who loves their sin and doesn't want to turn from it. Look at what Jude says, "...others save with fear". Some will not turn from their sins unless they see what awaits them and for fear of judgment.

Jud 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

I don't think many ministers ever read the book of Jude. Its hard core preaching but it.s the truth. Jude even quotes Enoch - you know the one who was taken (raptured) because he pleased God. I can't think of one sermon where I heard a minister quote Jude unless he was a fireball evangelist that preached repentance also and I have been a Christian for 27 years now. I hope to God that this video finally wakes up ministers across America and Canada who have allowed themselves and their congregations to get sucked into this false movement. Let's get back to reading our Bibles and quit making excuses for the unfruitful works of darkness.

I plan on doing a whole discourse on YouTube on Rob's first book Velvet Elvis to enlighten people further about the garbage he and others like him have been spewing out of their mouths along with what this whole movement believes and teaches.
My heart is that I hope and pray others will start to take a stand against these false teachings, and that shepherds will repent and become the men of God that they are supposed to be and that we will have national repentance and hopefully one last revival before Christ returns.

1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1Jn 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
